I had some iffy media that would produce this error at 4x, but burn fine at 2x. I do believe that it is the media. What discs are you using? During the write, it continues to do this test to get the best write throughout the whole CD; this is called "Running Optimum Power Calibration" (ROPC). Yes, my password is: Forgot your password?
But Neph is a great guy and mod. I've had 100-pack spindles of TY media produce a PCA failure on one disc, while the rest worked fine. First deinstall all your burnersoftware(s), also clean registry*.
