It only will burn in 2.4x to begin with, and when I try to select 1x it goes right back to 2.4 - using ImgBurn or Nero. Reasons:1) this started to happen with Nero 11 Platinum2) The same burners (external and internal) works fine with other .ISO burning (some free) software, right after a failure in Nero.same media, I've had this version of XP SP2 on my pc for over a year. Change Startup Type to Disabled. Thanks!

It is a good idea to check with Sony to find out if there is a firmware upgrade for the CD or DVD. The problem was showing before and after format my PC.
