Do you possibly have an Intel(R) 82567LM-3 or 82577 Gigabit Network Connection?Do your connection issues happen after the computer wakes up from sleep? Updating to 10.5.10.0 220.127.116.11 direct from Intel site seems to have helped. There must be driver issues. I have already installed the latest NIC drivers and BIOS from HP. Can my boss open and use my computer when I'm not present? Also a Server 2012 machine on ESXi 5.1 with the latest guest tools installed.

If you are noticing a consisten drop of your connection with an 8000 series NIC from Intel update driver and don't allow MS update to give you this bad version. It is a driver optimized for VMware that emulates an Intel NIC to the guest OS.
