No quality loss and 36X faster speed. I really don't know a lot about DVD copy protection but it can involve dud/fake sectors on the disc and vob files containing non-video data which probably should be cleaned out. Generally if it rips successfully then it's good quality. PS: For Windows user, you can head over to the Windows DVD copy software to copy and rip DVD with bad sector on your PC.
