I have tried Openoffice through the normal PBI package and when I was experiencing so much crashing I built it from Ports.(The Ports version of Openoffice was exactly the same as Was any city/town/place named "Washington" prior to 1790? I came across this thread while googling the error message text. Is anyone else experiencing this type of error with OpenOffice.org, if so, could you please respond and tell me how you fixed it? The time now is 03:55 PM. You can always ping the maintainer and ask them for help, but it may just be easier to use libreoffice instead.

All the files you were working on will now be saved. I consider it a bug because openoffice WILL crash when using a certain function on a default ubuntu installation. This is usually bad news as their ABIs are not fully compatible, and in fact I get stack corruption in addition to the crash, making gdb useless.
