Clip envelopes This is the "default" way of working with CCs in Live. and with monitor "off", i imagine you cannot hear the fx applied etc... From what I've understood, that's meant for cases where ableton doesn't detect the latency properly ie slow hard drives etc.

Pretty sure the latency is allready adjusted for...drive error is just to fix the automatic latency adjustment due to buffer size if its needed. If I remember correctly, even if you set up delay compensation in live, I believe it will only work if you have monitoring off on the track you're recording - meaning It has been a mystery to me since. If the track is set to Auto or In, Live won't adjust the latency and you'll have to do it manually.
