If you are having major issues it could well be your xvid that is to blame. Since switching to a "wired" connection yesterday, I have had no DLNA protocol errors and everything has worked flawlessly so far.
Only thing thats changed on the PC is updates from Windows Update. ps3mediaserver streams dvd images at full resolution. Still got the "you have been disconnected from the media server" after a minute or two of photo browsing or video playing. What's your renderer? I found somewhere else how to make it work.

Music plays in the background while my slideshow is smooth and I saw no DLNA 2104 errors. However, I am using TVersity instead of WMP to stream my videos, songs and pictures to my PS3.
