You start the program up, load the movie and save the output to your hard drive. and when I try in DVDshrink the program freezes and the RAM usage goes off the charts to the point I have to hit ctrl+alt+delete to bring up Task Manager and DVDShrink is very much outdated for those tasks, though it is still a fine transcoder for reducing the size of the movie. Lost password/username? Such a data error would be ignored by a regular DVD player, but a show stopper for computer software. The Benqs are probably your best bet. you suspect a bad disc? HAve you tried a different disc? Anydvd Cyclic Redundancy Check THe only way to "backup" those dvd's is to rip the video from the disc and then burn the file to a disc.
